"Fickle" adjectives change their meaning depending on where they fall, usually with before=figurative, after=literal. So, before the noun, «simple» means "mere," and, after the noun, it means "simple." Some other non-BAGS "fickle" adjectives: «certain», «cher», «dernier», «pauvre», «propre» and «seul», just to name a few.
